Description: This painting is early in the morning, across the Haven in Nelson towards the Boulder bank and Tasman Bay. This is one of my favourite subjects, it was very still and the water in the Haven was like glass reflecting the sky with the pink sunrise.

Description: Hahei is one of my favourite places in NZ. Last time we were there, dolphins were swimming just off the beach. There is a painting effect that looks like dolphins in the sky top left.

Description: Paua (NZ abalone) has got the most beautiful colours both on the inside of the shell and also the polished side of the outer shell. This shows a small detail of the outer side of a paua shell. This is one in a series of paua shell paintings.

2007
Description: The second in a series of paua shell paintings that focuses on only a small detail of the outer shell, this painting is built up in transparent layers of glazes. The result of this is that in the evening the painting looks like it is glowing from within.
